Total Irish advertising spend edges up to €1bn mark.
John McGee, Adworld.ie whispers it quietly, 'the Irish Media industry can look forward to substantial growth in 2016, with every media category expected to benefit from the ongoing upturn in the economy and the loosening of marketing purse strings'. McGee was writing in the Irish Independent on 28th February 2016 and he believes that the rising econonic tide will indeed lift all boats, with digital leading the way with a forecast of €304m advertising spend. TV will then follow with an increase from €228m to €244.8m with newspapers and magazines expecting a modest growth from €163m to €164m. McGee has some good news for the Irish commercial radio sector as he predicts the sector will see its coffers boosted by €5.5m.
