Learning Waves secures additional Skillnet Ireland Funding.
Learning Waves Skillnet is delighted to announce that they have received additional funding from Skillnet Ireland under the recent call for proposals : Rebuilding Businesses and Supporting Impacted Workers. The main premise on the call for proposals was to support businesses that are seeking to rebuild for survival, sustainability and success and to support and upskill workers who have been displaced as a result of Covid 19.
The network has secured funding for the design and delivery of a senior management training programme which will be delivered online via Zoom. This programme which is currently out to tender will invlolve a mix of online modules supported by coaching from the successful provider. The programme will be rolled out from November 2020 and will be completed in April 2021.
In addition to this, the network received funding to support workers from the sector who may be temporarily unemployed, may have been displaced or may currently be unemployed. Two specific prorgammes have received funding under the Employment Activation Programme and include :
- Advanced Diploma in Social Media and Media Law with Kings Inns College, Dublin
- Diploma in Creative Radio Advertising with the London College of Music
Both courses are 100% funded, eligibility criteria will apply and are limited to 8 places per course.
The above funding has been welcomed by the Learning Waves board and it comes at a time when radio stations are continuing to face economic challenges and the funding secured will enable the sector to develop and enhance its skillset in order to meet such challenges.
