Get Ready for Radio Days Ireland 2025.
Learning Waves, the training body for the Independent Radio Sector in Ireland, along with the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland(IBI) have announced dates for Radio Days Ireland 2025. The two day conference will take place on 27th and 28th March 2025 in the Gibson Hotel. The conference which will feature a range of speakers from Ireland, UK, USA and across Europe will take place from 2pm on the 27th March and will finish at 1pm on the 28th March 2025.
The conference which was last held in February 2023 will celebrate the achievements of radio over the last 2 years and will look to the future of the medium from a content, revenue, digital and management perspective.
As a proud co-host alongside the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland (IBI), we are building on the incredible energy and insights from previous years. In 2023, we welcomed leading voices in the industry, with sessions that explored the latest innovations and challenges in audio. The 2025 edition promises to go even further, offering fresh perspectives, expert panels, and invaluable networking opportunities.

Mamobo Ogoro, founder and CEO of Gorm Media
Mamobo is a Social Psychologist and multi-award winning social entrepreneur. As the first Sanctuary PHD Fellow at the University of Limerick, Mamobo's research investigates migrant identify construction in Ireland and how systems of inclusion and exclusion affect migrant communities in Ireland. She is on a personal mission to unify the world. She is the founder and CEO of Gorm, an award wining social enterprise on a mission to unify across differences and advance belonging for marginalised communities. Mamobo is the youngest presenter of Newstalk FM, presenting the national show 'Younified, that celebrates diverse voices in Ireland.
Jim Gavin, COO, Irish Aviation Authority
With one All-Ireland title as a player in 1995 and six as a manager in the 2010s, Jim Gavin is considered one of the greatest Gaelic Football managers of all time. Combining his sporting role with 30 years experience in the aviation industry, currently the Chief Operations Officer, Jim has also served as the independent chairman of the Dublin Citizens Assembly and has been the chairman of the highly successful Football Review Committee that has introduced a raft of new rules to our national games.
Laura Costello, Head of Sustainability and Planet Services, THINKHOUSE
Laura Costello is Head of Sustainability and Planet Services at THINKHOUSE (a B Corp certified, full-service, digital-first marketing company for progressive brands) and Ireland Lead at Purpose Disruptors (an award-winning non-profit on a mission to transform the advertising industry to work in harmony with our natural world). She is also a Clean Creatives Ambassador. Her work in strategy, storytelling, community building and imagination activism aims to accelerate cultural and business transformation for a thriving future. She works with the likes of the Irish Environmental Network, GOAL, Musgrave, Fair Seas, IMMA, RTÉ, Tony’s Chocolonely, Heineken, Creative Ireland, Ben & Jerry’s, innocent drinks and Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard. She is currently leading the Creative Ireland funded project Good Life 2030 Ireland and authored the 'Good Life 2020 Ireland Citizen Vision Report', exploring Irish people's visions for the future.
As part of her work she has advised the Irish government on the role of media and advertising in climate action. In 2022 she was named by Forbes as one of 43 People Changing Advertising For The Climate.
Laura is a regular guest lecturer in Irish Universities and has studied in Ireland, France and the UK. She holds a certificate in Business Sustainability Management from the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, an MPhil in English Literature and a BA in English and Philosophy with a Minor in Social Justice.
Niall Power, Head of Station Sound, Beat 102-103
Niall Power is Head of Station Sound with Beat 102-103; Ireland's first regional radio station. Niall started his radio career in 1997 with Dublin's 98FM and was there when the world renowned radio promotion "The Fugitive" was brought to Ireland for the first time. Aside from his managerial programming role in Beat, Niall has anchored the station's flagship morning show, Beat Breakfast, for the last nineteen years. He has been the lead voice and on the operations team that has executed across numerous platforms, some of the world's most exciting radio promotions including "2 Strangers & A Wedding", "Runaway Bride" and the national award-winning "On The Run". Fresh from appearing at Radio Days Europe in Athens, Niall will be presenting some of 2024’s most exciting radio promotions from across the world, including Beat’s ‘Tat For Taylor’ competition.
James Cridland, Editor, Podnews
James Cridland is Editor of Podnews, the daily podcast newsletter. He is a radio futurologist - a writer, consultant and public speaker on radio’s future.
James has worked in audio since 1989 as an award-winning copywriter, radio presenter, and internet strategist. He launched the world’s first streaming radio smartphone app in March 2005, for the original Virgin Radio in London, launching daily podcasts earlier that year. In 2007 he joined the BBC working on the BBC iPlayer for radio, achieving a dramatic increase in the service’s audio quality.
Part of the team that laid the foundations for the UK Radioplayer, he has since worked for a variety of businesses across the world, including Canada’s Vista Radio, receiver and silicon manufacturers Pure and Frontier Silicon, talkSPORT, the ABC, and a variety of media companies in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia; helping them focus on the benefits and challenges that new platforms bring to their business. He was an advisor to podcast host Captivate, which was acquired by Global in December 2021. One of the organisers of Next Radio, the UK radio ideas conference, James has worked with the world’s largest radio conference, Radiodays Europe, since its inception. He’s also part of the programming team for Radiodays Asia and Podcast Day 24.
A founder of the hybrid radio technology association RadioDNS, he is an Associate Member of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, and was made an Honorary Life Member of the UK’s Student Radio Association.
