Course Brief
The General Data Protection Regulation became law on May 2018 and imposes mandatory obligations on data processors. Radio stations that collect data from listeners and staff are obliged to follow these rules. This workshop will look at the policies and procedures adopted by radio stations since May 2018 and will provide updated information to ensure stations are compliant with the current regulations.

- Data legislation requirements
- Data protection protocol
- Readiness for a data protection audit
- Data Controller v Data Processor
- Use of personal data :
- storing on cloud based services
- transferring personal data by online transfer protocols
- outsourcing personal data for accounting or marketing purposes
Increasingly SMEs are being targeted for data protection compliance checks. The base line principles of data protection as they affects radio stations will be outlined at this briefing (1.5 hours) together with guidelines for reviewing the data protection protocol of your station. This workshop will provide the essential information for station managers, marketing personnel, HR personnel and IT managers.
