Course Aims
This half day workshop will give participants an insight into the upcoming General Election. Whether it happens in 2024 or 2025 who knows but you will be ready! Following on from the recent local & European elections and the numerous retirements of some well known faces we will look at the parties, the polls and the politics, planning your election coverage, reporting election results and how to deal with disinformation and misinformation.

- Developing and Publishing your Election Statement

- Managing Election Interests/ Role of Presenters
- Social Media Contributions, Disinformation, Misinformation & Political Advertising
- The Moratorium – where are we at in terms of its abolition
- Practical Tips for Compliance
- How to deal with complaints and protect against abuse from candidates
- The Count Process, the Ballot Paper, the Voter and PR
- The Tally, reporting the Tally figures, reporting the results
- The Quota, reaching the Quota, eliminating candidates, election of candidates, distribution of surplus and vote management
