TY programme student feedback.
I signed up for this programme because I was interested in journalism. I wanted to see how it looks on the inside and experience it for myself. The most interesting part of the programme was the journalism element. I liked doing the vox-pop interviews on the street. I would definitely recommend this programme. It was very educational, fun, and filled with lots of useful activities.
The most interesting part of the programme for me was getting to interview people I look up to. I would definitely recommend the TY Media Week programme to other Transition Year students. It's a new experience and you get to see the behind the scenes of a radio station.
I would absolutely recommend the programme to other Transition Year students as it gives you a chance to make a radio show. It gives you a good insight into the medium of radio. The most interesting part of the programme for me was writing and recording my own segment for our show.

I signed up for the TY Media Week because I have a big interest in media, and I wanted to see ho radio shows are produced and aired. Being in a working environment surrounded by radio stars and learning all the tips and tricks associated with media was so beneficial and interesting.
I came into the programme quite nervous. I am a shy person naturally. Throughout the week I have come out of my box, I feel like I’ve made friends for life. I started off the week being scared in front of the microphone, now I feel much more confident.
I've always had an interest in sports journalism. After my experience on the TY Media Week programme here in iRadio, I would love to pursue a career in radio after the leaving cert. It's my dream job.
Yes, definitely. Everyone was so nice and we learnt so much about behind the scenes in radio and got a chance to see every factor that goes into radio and making a show. Valerie was such a good co-ordinator! Thank you, Valerie.
I’d love to do more presenting and recording. It was unreal, very fun & educational. Kayte O’Malley was a great co-ordinator. Every employee was so welcoming! You made my week unforgettable! Can't believe it's over, I really enjoyed it, and I'll miss it so much. Thanks to you and all the team at GalwayBayFM I think I might genuinely pursue radio presenting as a career! Thanks again, you legend!
Before I thought of media as a way for people to gain news and entertainments value. However, Clare FM is so much more than that. It publishes unheard stories and makes local situations known, which creates change for the better!
There are so many options for everyone in this line of work. You most definitely are not limited. Not only will you learn different aspects of radio, but you will also learn to make new friends, build your confidence, voice your personal opinion and make your own show.
